The Miss Universe 2017 pageant is all set to crown the winner of the 66th edition of the international competition, which is to be held on November 26 in Las Vegas, the gambling capital of the world. But, before the main event, the competition will host several preliminary rounds like swimsuit rounds that will take place on Saturday.
The preliminary contest will start at 11 am ET on Saturday (9:30 PM IST and 12:00 AM on November 26 in Philippines). The event will be broadcast live on the official Miss Universe official Facebook page and on the Miss Universe YouTube handle.
It will feature the Miss Universe competitors flaunting their toned bodies in swimsuits and gorgeous evening gowns sponsored by Yamaha. Contestants from 93 countries and territories will be participating in this year's beauty pageant, surpassing the previous record of 89 contestants in 2011 and 2012. The performance of the preliminary competition plays an important role in deciding the top 15 finalists of the beauty pageant.
Morgan Deane, Director of Marketing for TAO Group in New York City, NYC based model scout for international modelling agency IMG Isabelle Lindblom, Fox's Megan Olivi and Miss Universe 1998 Wendy Fitzwilliam will judge the preliminary round. Filipino American producer Cecilio Asuncion and CEO of IDT Telecom Bill Pereira will also be a part of the judges panel.
The judges will select the top contestants from the preliminary round and the names will be announced during the live televised final show that will be aired live on Sunday, November 26.
