Lionel Richie has expressed his true feelings about Sofia Richie dating Scott Disick. The Hello hitmaker confessed that he does not approve of the 19-year-old model dating the 34-year-old reality star.
At the American Idol auditions in New York City, he was asked about the couple's relationship. He told Us Weekly: "Have I been in shock?! I'm the dad, come on."
"I'm scared to death, are you kidding me?" he added.
Rumours that Sofia is dating the father-of-three started in June after they were spotted getting cosy during a Monaco trip. However, she denied the relationship reports. She tweeted: "Just so everyone can get their panties out of their asses, Scott and I are just homies #relax."
The dating rumours thickened after the Malibu trip, but she again took to Twitter and shared: The last time I'm gonna say it. Scott and I are just friends. I'm single and focused on friends, family and work."
However, the recently made their relationship official and have been spending lots of time together. On 2 October, the duo were spotted kissing at the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Previously, during an interview with Tings London magazine, Sofia admitted that it is hard to date being a celebrity. She said: "When it comes to dating you want to keep it as private as possible. As something special between you and the other person. You don't really want other peoples opinions on it – even though it doesn't matter. I just don't want to hear it at the end of the day. I try to just be quiet about my dating life."
