The Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco has opened up about her split with Ryan Sweeting. In September 2015, Cuoco, who is best known for her role as Penny in the hit CBS sitcom, filed for divorce from Sweeting after 18 months of marriage.
The Bahamian-born American professional tennis player had proposed to the actress a few days after the couple made their red carpet debut at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards. They got married on 31 December 2013.
During an interview with the Cosmopolitan, the 30-year-old actress talked about her thoughts on love and marriage. She said: "[What happened] changes the way I look at marriage, and that makes me sad. It does not change the way that I look at love. I cannot wait to be in love again. I don't feel like I am ready yet ... which is so different for me. I dive into everything."
Following the split, Cuoco was romantically linked to former boyfriend/co-star Johnny Galecki. Cuoco and Galecki dated for two years before parting ways mutually. She said: "Johnny and I are very close now, but the worst part about that is I don't want stories like that, especially during this divorce, to hurt my ex. We have nods with each other. Johnny and I do this thing like a nod that says, 'I got you. I get it.'"
Cuoco also opened up about her desire to start a family. She said: "I thought I'd have a baby by now! You see your life going one way, and then it's the direct opposite way. I'm waking up going, Oh my god, my life just flipped upside down."
