Ji Chang Wook might not try his hands on an action drama again. The 29-year-old, who will be seen portraying the role of a tough bodyguard in an upcoming series, revealed that he faced a hard time filming for fighting and action packed scenes.
In a recent press conference of tvN's forthcoming drama, The K2, Chang Wook relayed: "Among all the projects I have done so far, this was by far the hardest. It was so hard it made me resolve to never do another action drama."
The iconic actor of daily drama series Smile Again, reportedly went through a strict two-month training in an action school to prepare for his character: "I worked out so much for this drama. I practiced a lot of martial arts at an action school, and because my character is a former mercenary, I wanted to build muscle too, for a masculine look," he added.
However, when the healer actor signed The K2, he apparently looked more exuberant. Talking about his portrayal, Wook stated : "Kim Je Ha (his character in the drama) is a cold and unfeeling character but he has a charm that makes you keep looking back at him. And I look forward to the relationships he will form to the other characters in the series." The Empress Ki actor will be seen sharing the screen space with beautiful Girl's Generations member, Im Yoona, who is returning to her Korean roots after three long years.
The mystery thriller drama which also stars popular actors Song Yoon Ah and Cho Sung Ha is set to take over the Friday and Saturday time slot previously occupied by The Good Wife on September 23. Currently, the cast is in town for the promotions, however, the shooting schedule will carry on as it is after the promotional activities are over.
