The highly anticipated tvN's forthcoming drama, K2, has finally got its male lead in place. Actor Ji Chang Wook , who played the iconic role of Dong-hae in daily drama series Smile Again, is confirmed to play the protagonist in the brand new mystery thriller series.
On 27 July, Chang Wook's agency confirmed the news and stated that the actor is planning to start with the shoot soon. Apparently, the 29-year-old will be flying to San Roque, Spain, where the drama's set has already been arranged.
Expressing his exuberance over taking up the role, the man himself talked about his characterization in the show. The Healer actor told Allkpop: "Kim Je Ha (his character in the drama) is a cold and unfeeling character but he has a charm that makes you keep looking back at him. And I look forward to the relationships he will form to the other characters in the series."
The actor who has been lately focusing on Japanese and Chinese projects further relayed: " I wanted to return to my Korean fans as soon as possible with a drama. I think I will be able to greet them soon. I will prepare diligently and return to you all a better person."
Meanwhile, multiple reports surfacing online claims that the Sleeping Beauty actor is charging quite a huge amount for his Korean comeback. Soompi reports that Chang Wook's fee for "K2" is much higher than his counterpart , Jeon Do Yeon, from the show Good Wife.
However, citing the dissent over Wook's gratification, his agency released a statement and kept a validate point. "We do not want Ji Chang Wook's fee to become an issue. In consideration of publication rights, tvN made the arrangement to give Ji Chang Wook a high pay due to his involvement in other projects in Japan and China," Glorious Entertainment said.
