South Korean singer Jessica Jung has opened up about her sister's split from EXO's Kai. Krystal Jung, who is a member of South Korean girl group f(x), broke up with the boy band member in June.
The two decided to part ways after a year of relationship. During an interview with TV Daily, the former member of Girls' Generation said: "You can't do much about the beginning and end of relationships. I'm always on my dongsaeng's side. Honestly, she probably felt a lot of pressure. The breakup news was probably more overwhelming than the dating news..."
Adding on, the 28-year-old also spoke about her relationship with Tyler Kwon. She said: "I don't think you have to worry about me yet. I'll let you know when something worrisome happens."
Meanwhile, SM Entertainment, who manages Kai and Krystal, had confirmed the break-up news. The agency said in a statement at that time: "It's true that they've decided to part ways."
The two apparently ended the relationship due to their busy schedules. A source close to the couple told Soompi: "It is true that the two have broken up. They've been unable to meet often because of their busy schedules. I don't know the exact reason for their breakup but I think they've both decided to focus on their careers."
Kai and Krystal met in 2007 as trainees, and their romantic relationship reportedly began last spring. SM Entertainment stated at the time: "They began having feelings for each other earlier this year after being close friends for years."
An insider had shared: "The two know that they are similar: looks, personality, taste in music, fashion taste, and hobbies. It was inevitable that they became lovers."
