Beloved Honk Kong movie star Jackie Chan recently revealed that he was quite annoyed with singer Z.Tao's rapping on the sets of their upcoming movie 'Railroad Tigers.'
Website Koreaboo reports that at a recent press conference for the upcoming Chinese action comedy film 'Railroad Tigers,' Chan was asked whether singer-songwriter Zitao Huang, popularly known as Z.Tao, sang for the veteran action star while filming for the movie. Chan made light-hearted fun of the rapper saying he found his rapping annoying.
"It was so annoying," the "Shanghai Knights" actor said. He then proceeded to mock the 23-yaer old rapper by mimicking his rapping style which left the singer visible embarrassed. Chan also revealed that Tao would rap everyday and it was good initially but then the actor found it intolerable.
Chan hilariously said that when Z.Tao was bedridden with Chicken Pox, he was eventually spared from having to listen to his rapping all the time. And he finally got the much needed peace and quiet.
The synopsis for the film 'Railroad Tigers' reads "A railroad worker (Chan) in China in 1941 leads a team of freedom fighters against the Japanese in order to get food for the poor," as per IMDB.com. Jackie Chan is playing Ma Yuan, the head porter and Z.Tao, who is credited in the film by his real name Zitao Huang, plays Da Hai, an amateur tailor.
From the Trailer, it seems that this will be an action-adventure comedy film, with some eventual tragedy and sacrifices, as the stakes are quite high throughout the film. The most striking aspect of the film's trailer is the beautiful cinematography by 'Police Story: Lockdown" director of photography, Yu Ding. Some of the scenes in the trailer actually reminds one of the famous 1975 Indian film 'Sholay,' starring supertar Amitabh Bachchan.
Jackie Chan is also sporting a unique old school bearded look, which masks his otherwise recognisable facial features. Chan will be next seen in the Hollywood film 'The Foreigner,' which is directed by 'GoldenEye' director Martin Campbell and stars James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan among others. Other upcoming films starring Chan include 'Bleeding Steel,' 'Kung-Fu Yoga,' 'The NutJob 2' and 'The Lego Ninjago Movie.'
'Railroad Tigers' releases on 29 December in Singapore, this year.
