Fresh off the news mill is an information about the iPhone 8 release date disclosing that it will be moved to 2018. Reports have revealed that Apple could now be working on the release of another electronic product after plans to produce the much-anticipated iPhone 8 turned out to be unfeasible.
No iPhone 8 this year
A Deutsche Bank analyst has recently expressed through a research note detailing how unviable the plans of Apple have become to release iPhone 8 this year alongside iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. The said analyst, who remained anonymous, suggested that "no new iPhone" will be released "this calendar year."
Citing a report from Value Walk, the analyst claimed that Apple has been confronted with "technical challenges" and a dire shortage of key materials to manufacture its forthcoming flagship smartphone, which causes the delay of the said handset.
Meanwhile, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus could be launched in autumn 2017, the claim further stated. Apple, however, has not yet released an official statement regarding the speculation.
Previously, renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities had already outlined that interruption in the release of iPhone 8 might get in the way owing to "increased production difficulty." Unlike the Deutsche Bank analyst, Kuo believed that iPhone 8 could still be launched this year along with iPhone 7s and iPhone 7 Plus.
Siri-powered speaker
In lieu of the next generation iPhone, a recent report from Express UK suggested that Apple might be in for a major surprise next month as it might introduce a Siri-powered smart speaker at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2017 in San Jose, California. This is expected to be Apple's head-on response to Amazon's Echo speaker.
The speaker pioneered by Amazon has been a huge success in the technology department lately, which prompted Google to follow suit with its Home. Given this ongoing competition, Kuo stressed out that there is a 50 percent chance that the Cupertino-giant might be pushing its premium version of the device. Kuo expects that the new speaker from the iPhone manufacturer will deliver an excellent performance, which is likely to come with a price.
