Another round of iPhone 8 leak reveals a bunch of its new features and they are sure to grab the attention of customers. The new Smart Camera is the latest to make an appearance through the HomePod firmware. Its primary ability is the auto-detection of scenes like pets, sunrise and more.
The iPhone 8 Smart Camera feature could either be arriving alongside iOS 11 or as a standalone feature like the iPhone 7 Plus' Portrait Mode last year. This new feature gives the iPhone 8 camera the ability to automatically perceive various scene elements. Among these scenes are babies, foliage, pets, snow, sunset, sunrise, point light source and sports.
As an intelligent camera feature, it will be able to distinguish fireworks from a bright stage. And from the looks of it, the Smart Camera can make necessary adjustments to exposure, brightness and other aspects of a photo or video to make it even better. It remains a mystery, however, whether the feature will be available on either front and main cameras or just the latter.
In a post of iOS developer Guilherme Rambo Wednesday on Twitter, the Smart Camera also has a separate feature apart from auto-detection of scenes. Called Freeze Motion, this is said to integrate photos or videos captured through Smart Camera and make the best results out of it by applying different levels of high-dynamic range (HDR) effect.
iOS 11 (or the next iPhone) will have something called SmartCam. It will tune camera settings based on the scene it detects pic.twitter.com/7duyvh5Ecj

Last week, the HomePod firmware was released via over-the-air update and iOS developers were able to decode some of its glyphs. On Tuesday, IBTimes SG had reported already that the iPhone 8 will not be having a Touch ID under the display but a face detection technology instead.
