The iPhone 8 design, which is finally confirmed as a premium leather phone case and wallet maker, released a prototype of their product designs showing what Apple's 10th anniversary phone will look like. The home button is gone and the camera setup has changed.

Forbes' Gordon Kelly got an exclusive look into the iPhone 8 and based on the CAD files for the device that he managed to obtain from well-known iPhone case designer Nodus, the next flagship smartphone from Apple will feature a vertical dual-camera setup. This is an evident modification from its predecessors—the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus—which have their cameras horizontally situated side by side.

The vertical dual-camera setup should be Apple's move to support augmented reality, which the Cupertino conglomerate has been putting so much hard work on. Apparently, this new setup affords users a more convenient handling of the device when using any AR apps in landscape mode.

The iPhone 8 sports a 5.8-inch screen with ultra-thin bezels that are close to none wrapped around it. The screen display has 18.5:9 aspect ratio, which makes it taller and slimmer than the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus' 19:6 ratio. A thin bezel on the phone's forehead houses the front camera, the speaker, and two sensors.

On the edges, the volume controls are still situated on the left side opposite the power button on the right. Although the top and bottom edges have not been showcased in the files, Kelly is confident that Apple will retain the Lightning port in spite of speculations that a USB Type-C port will replace it. Clearly, the manufacturer is not bringing back the headphone jack considering its effortful ventures in the AirPods.

Finally, the screen display is left with no bezels other than the edges, which means the home button is gone. The Touch ID, however, sitting right through the display remains a mystery. Kelly suggests Apple could easily integrate into the power button just like what Sony did with its flagship smartphones.

In the meantime, fans still have to wait if other rounds of the leaks will go public in the coming days. These should pertain to camera specifications, battery capacity, processors, and more. As expected, the iPhone 8 is a very expensive smartphone.
