South Korean singer/dancer HyunA has opened up about her feelings over 4Minute's disbandment. Cube Entertainment disbanded the South Korean girl group on 16 June.
During an episode of MBC Every1's HyunA's X19, the 24-year-old singer held a press conference for her solo comeback and shared her thoughts on the disbandment. HyunA admitted that she hates the word "disbandment" and was careful not to hurt 4Minute members.
She said: "Of course not! How can I do only what I want to do? It's not something I can decide by myself and it upsets me that those types of things gets consumed so easily."
Following the interview, HyunA starts crying for talking about the group's disbandment.
The girl group, which debuted in 2009, reportedly parted ways due to a conflict in member's futuristic opinions. The official note from Cube Entertainment read: "Jihyun, Gayoon, Jiyoon, and Sohyun's exclusive contracts ended on June 14, and the 4 have left Cube."
The agency continued: "We had long negotiations concerning the 4 members' re-signing, and at the end of the mediation, it was decided they would not re-sign. The label is respecting their decision and sincerely cheer on their futures."
