If anything technology has taught us, is that change is inevitable. There is always going to be innovations to push things further and bring in better products that ease human burden. But the evolution of a regular condom to a new age smart condom? Well, many didn't see that coming but thanks to i.Con, "world's first smart condom" is here.

Although the ring was announced last year in July and many thought it was just a bad joke or another ridiculous tech that will never see the light of the day, it has managed to become a reality and is currently available for preorder on British Condoms for £59.99. However, the release date is not out yet. But there is no need to think it as a hoax because the firm has assured that it will not take a single dollar out of your pocket until it has a definite release.

British Condoms, which claims to be UK's largest online condom store, is definitely sure that this product is a winner. As the saying goes they are putting money where the mouth is to make it a reality. "With just under 3 years in the making, British Condoms have worked with over 40 tech engineers from across the UK to develop the smart condom ring, which is now in its final stages of testing and will be ready for release in early 2017," the company said.

So what does a smart condom do? Well, apparently a lot of things.

The smart condom ring is going to sit at the base of a condom and by making use of nano-chip technology, blue-tooth technology and micro-sensors, it will relay the answers to the following categories listed below, via the smartphone app.

It will let you know

a) Calories burnt during sexual intercourse

b) Speed of thrusts

c) Total number of thrusts

d) Frequency of sessions

e) Total duration of sessions

f) Average velocity of thrusts

g) Girth measurement

h) Different positions used (this is apparently in BETA testing – and the firm promises more details soon)

i) Average skin temperature

What if these private and sensitive information become public? British Condoms assures that "all data will be kept anonymous, but users will have the option to share their recent data with friends or indeed, if they want, with the world."

It is going to be really tough to have a friend in social media, who chooses to upload it after every romantic encounter.
