The recently released iOS 11 Gold Master (GM) is the closest thing that iPhone and iPad owners can have to get a taste of what the final iOS 11 would bring. From its pilot release last week, many users have been smitten by all its features.

Luckily, the GM version of the mobile operating system has been made officially available to all by Apple starting Tuesday. The official iOS 11 is expected to arrive on 19 September. If your iPhone or iPad is running iOS 11 Public Beta and you want to get your hands on iOS 11 GM, you can do so free of charge.

For those who are registered in Apple's Beta Software Program, head over to Settings > General > Software > Update to look for the iOS 11 GM update. Once it shows up, tap Download and Install. The update comes over the air so it may not run as smooth as possible.

According to some developers, it is not recommended to stay in iOS 11 Public Beta at this point and updating to GM could be the best thing to do since it offers tonnes of stability improvements.

Compatible devices to download iOS 11 GM include iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 5s, first and second-generation iPad Pro 12.9, first-generation iPad Pro 10.5, first-generation iPad Pro 9.7, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, fifth-generation iPad, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2 and sixth-generation iPod touch.
