The supernatural series from the makers of monster hit drama, Descendent of the Sun, is all set to start with its first schedule of shooting. Tentatively titled as Goblin, which stars actor Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, Lee Dong Wook, and Yoo Inna held its first script reading on August 30.
The drama will be celebrating the strong partnership of writer-PD duo of Kim Eun Sook and Lee Eung Bok, who made Descendent of the sun which is a major hit of the year. The fantasy romantic comedy is reportedly getting on the floor from September 8, and the shoot is said to take place in Canada.
About the show's release date, broadcasting channel, tvN, released a statement in August announcing that the highly anticipated drama has been pushed back from its schedule. Revealing the reason and giving instances of further postponement the representative from the channel stated: "It's planned that 'Goblin' will air around December. The schedule may change a bit depending on the schedule for 'K2,' which is airing before it." Romantic drama, K2, will take over the slot previously occupied by The Good Wife in September, followed by Goblin in December.
Meanwhile, all the actors showcased a great enthusiasm at the recent table reading of the show held at Nuri Dream Square Business Tower. The lead of Goblin, Gong Yoo shared that he experienced some great positive vibes from his co-actors. Yoo also reminisced the days Coffee Prince and hoped to share the fun bond with all the actors like he did 10 years ago: "Everyone in 'Coffee Prince' wanted each other to do well. No one was selfish, and it was a set where we all had fun. That kind of atmosphere is hard to come by, and to have experienced it as an actor, I am very thankful. I hope [the 'Goblin' set] is the same," the actor told Soompi.
