It looks like the oversized coat that model-turned-actor Gong Yoo wears as Kim Shin in "Goblin" is creating a new fashion statement in South Korea. The drama has not only drawn attention for Goblin's niche fashion style but for Grim Reaper Lee Dong-wook's all-black sexy outfits.

Goo Yoo always has a great sense of style statement, be its his first drama "The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince" to latest hit "Goblin." According to Jakarta Post, "One item that has drawn attention is a coat from Lanvin Paris' 2016 fall-winter collection, which he wore in the third episode of the show. It costs over 4 million won ($3310), but it has already become difficult to find it in stores here."

The report also added that most of his coats used in the show are high-end luxury brands such as Givenchy, Burberry, and Tom Ford. "Some of them have not even been officially launched in Korea yet. Still, the popularity of these coats shows no sign of slowing down," it added.

It is also heard that many fashion brands are queuing up to sponsor Dong-wook's clothes even though he doesn't exhibit much of a style statement due to the character's nature. Dong-wook's stylist Nam Ju-hui said to Jakarta Post, "The items are not difficult to find, but still give off an exceptional vibe."

"Though his role is Grim Reaper, his fashion is not always so somber, which has led to many fashion brands trying to sponsor him," added Nam.

Meanwhile, tvN's Goblin is going steady with the ratings, breaking records set by the previous dramas. Also known as Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, the series narrates the story of a Joseon warrior Kim Shin and his curse for an eternal life. To break the 900-year old quest, he needs the help of a human bride Ji Eun Tak. The supernatural bromance, perfectly timed romance and the mysterious past are definitely making the fans frenzy. During its debut week, Goblin reached 302.8 points and even dethroned Lee Min Ho's "Legend of the Blue Sea."

"Goblin" airs every Friday and Saturday on tvN.
