After the successful 16-episode run of the tvN fantasy drama 'Goblin', fans are highly hoping for a second part of the popular show. These speculations started because of the mixed reviews about the ending of the drama that have been circulating. However, the lead actor of the drama, Gong Yoo dismissed the possibility of the second installment of the drama via a recent Twitter post.
Gong Yoo played Kim Shin, a warrior who turned into an immortal god in the recently concluded tvN series. Kim Shin was in search for a human bride who can break the curse. This eventually led him to Ji Eun Tak, played by Kim Go Eun.

However, some viewers felt the end is such that there could be more to the story and therefore the hopes of second season started building in the minds of the viewers. Some viewers felt that Kim Shin's relationship with Eun Tak, who in the end got reincarnated, but did not seem to have closure.
All rumours about Goblin's sequel that have been circulating for weeks have been put to rest after Gong Yoo's tweet, who explained that the sequel is not going to happen.
Sad to say there will be no Season 2 for 쓸쓸하고 찬란하神-도깨비 (Goblin) to happen. Some stories are always better to end as it is. 모두 사랑해!

The 37-year-old actor tweeted: "Some stories are always better to end as it is." However, the actor went on to reassure the fans that the Goblin's writer, Kim Eun Sook will release a similar kind of project soon.
In his second tweet he wrote: "Our talented writer Kim Eun Sook has always been amazed by fantasy stories."
Apart from "Goblin," Eun Sook is also known for her popular wartime drama "Descendants of the Sun." She earlier stated that she will come up with a new project soon but for the time being she needs a break for a few months after the tiresome yet successful project, Goblin.
