The 6th Gaon Chart Music Awards will be held at Jamsil Arena in Seoul, South Korea on February 22. The red carpet will kick off at 7pm KST and the awards show will start at 8pm KST.

Super Junior's Leeteuk will host the event with MAMAMOO's Solar. A representative of the Gaon Chart Music Awards event stated: "The initial lineup of SISTAR, EXO, MAMAMOO, GFRIEND, TWICE, Han Dong Geun, Bolbbalgan Sachoongi, Dean, BewhY, and SHINee's Onew will be joined by BTS, BLACKPINK, GOT7, NCT127, and Urban Zakapa. We will do our best to create a stage that harmoniously brings artists of a variety of music genres together."
The nominees for both digital and physical sales include acts like EXO, TWICE, and BTS. Other nominees were SNSD's Taeyeon, Block B's Zico, BIG BANG, and Park Hyoshin.
For the rookies, the following artists were nominated for physical sales: BLACKPINK, SF9, NCT127, Gugudan, Astro, and Pentagon. BLACKPINK was also included in the nominees for digital sales, along with MC Gree, Kwon Jin Ah, Sam Kim, and Jung Seung Han.
