Truth cannot be long hidden, and now after a lot of anticipation we finally get to know that Jon Snow from Game of Thrones season 6 is still alive.
After 10 months of speculation, Jon Snow was revived by sorceress Melisandre at the climax of 'Home', the second episode of Season 6 which was aired on Sunday.
While a lot of fans have been craving to know the mystery behind the son of Lord Eddard Stark, Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow, has apologized for keeping his mouth shut or rather lying about the fate of his on-screen role. The actor was forced to keep mum in order to keep up the interest of the viewers.
In an exclusive video interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 29-year-old has extended his apologies for keeping the fans in the dark.
He said: "I'd like to say sorry for lying to everyone. I'm glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care or it'd just be, 'Fine, Jon Snow's dead.' But it seemed like people did have, similar to the 'Red Wedding' episode, a kind of grief about it. Which meant that something I'm doing, or that the show's doing, for Jon is right."
Harington also clarified that in his initial sitting with the producers, he was told that the character of Jon Snow will die and was not likely to continue in the next season. The actor stated: "Quite honestly, I have never been told the future of things in this show, but this is the one time I have".
"They sat me down and said, 'This is how it is.' If anything in the future is not like that, then I don't know about it – it's only in David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss] and George [R. R. Martin]'s heads. But I've been told I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm not coming back next season. So that's all I can tell you, really," Harington told EW.
