Korean pop-rock band FT Island will be marking their 10th anniversary since debut by releasing an album and doing other activities.
According to the band's agency, FNC Entertainment, FT Island will release the 13-track album "Over 10 Years" on June 7, which is the date when they made their debut in the K-pop world in 2007. A teaser video of the album's title track, "Wind," was uploaded on YouTube.
It's been a decade since FT Island released their debut album "Cheerful Sensibility."
Since then, they have released six other studio albums consisting of "Colorful Sensibility," "Cross & Change," "Five Treasure Box," "I Will" and last year's "Where's the Truth?"
In a live broadcast on Naver V Live, FT Island members Lee Hongki, Choi Jonghoon, Lee Jaejin, Choi Minhwan and Song Seunghyun reminisced by going over their past photos and clips that made them laugh and cringe with embarrassment.
"Now that so much time has passed, I can finally see ourselves from a third person's point of view. I hope that in the future, we will be able to look back on the things we're doing now and feel proud about them. I hope our album does well," said Choi Min Hwan, according to Soompi.
Lee Jaejin commented that "seeing all of our mistakes made me think about how much harder we should work on every detail."
"I think we did a good job on our 10th anniversary album in that sense because we worked especially hard on it. I had a great time," he added.
Song Seunghyun said FT Island experienced good memories and hardships.
"It was a new feeling. If you only look at the photos and videos, it's really funny, but we also experienced many hardships. I have a lot of memories going through my mind right now," he said.
Before the new album's release, FT Island revealed the digital song "Love Sick" and its music video last May 27. "Love Sick" is a remake of their debut song released in 2007.
On June 4, FT Island will hold a street party as part of their anniversary celebration. During the event, the band members will cook dishes and serve drinks to fans as a way of thanking them for their support.
