dishonored death of the outsider
Bethesda

Bethesda has introduced the Dishonored series' first standalone story where two old characters have been confirmed to take the centre stage: Billie Lurk rises from the dead and rescues master assassin Daud. The duo will begin to embark on a new adventure on 15 September.

Death of the Outsider is the first major expansion of the steampunk stealth game series. It is tailored to Dishonored 2's ending while serving as a sequel to the original instalment's downloadable content The Knife of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches.

Former assassin Billie Lurk dives into the new story as Meagan Foster, an enigmatic pirate. She will rescue her former master and Empress Jessamine Kaldwain's executioner, Daud, from a tanked-up ship. Together, Billie and Daud will embark on a new assassination quest—to take down The Outsider, supernatural source of power of Daud, Corvo Attano, and Emily Kaldwin.

At the E3 2017 press conference, Bethesda revealed the trailer of Death of the Outsider. What has been shown so far, Maegan has a cyborg eye who gets on freeing Daud from the shackles of a vessel which remains to take shelter in the shadows of the unknown. The characters in the forthcoming story are bound to eliminate their omnipotent adversary.

The assassination is not a mere undertaking that Maegan and Daud will set foot on. The Outsider is armed with new weapons, abilities, and a legion of powerful subordinates, such as the Sisters of the Oracular Order, the Envisioned, and the Clockwork Soldiers.

"This one could be the beginning of a long string of episodic one-off experiences that further build out the series' world, something that seems increasingly likely given the Dishonored 2's poor sales performance", reports The Verge.

Death of the Outsider pre-order is now up on Amazon for US$30. It will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
