Unbeknownst to the public, BioWare has been gearing up a new action adventure title since the beginning of the production of Mass Effect: Andromeda a couple of years ago. All these years, the Edmonton video game developer has kept secret Anthem until today.

Bioware has announced earlier today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017 in Los Angeles, California its new title called Anthem by dropping a short teaser clip of the game. The first gameplay trailer is expected to be dropped at Microsoft's show tomorrow. From what the teaser shows, Anthem can be seen as an exciting title that gamers should look forward to.

Due for release in the Fall of 2018, the game's publisher, Electronics Arts (EA), described Anthem as an action-adventure game as opposed to reports calling it a role-playing game. Despite that, fans can expect the game not to veer away from BioWare's signature narrative and non-player character relationships. In fact, EA chief executive officer Andrew Wilson has been quoted saying, fans can expect "the great RPG character development and story progression that BioWare is known for".

Based on the trailer, Anthem will be a beast-hunting shooter, resembling Destiny. "This game is built around a live service, and through our creative process, we've decided to add more to the disruptive new social designs for our players", says Wilson. This may well mean that the forthcoming title will have a multiplayer mode.

While this description of the executive does not seem to fit into BioWare's signature style of storytelling, PC Gamer speculates that fans "could see cooperative missions and loot collecting eating up time in between episodic story missions". This somehow supports the ending tagline of the trailer, "The story doesn't end here, it's just the beginning".

With regards to characters, beasts are expected to be the boss or main antagonist in the game residing on a foreign planet that is inflicted with overgrown forests as well as with ruins. This is where the main heroes will invade.
