A celebrity gossip website has come up claims that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck had a tiff after she caught him texting former fiancee Jennifer Lopez. The 43-year-old actress and the Argo actor have remained close, though they announced their divorce in a joint statement on 30 June 2015 — a day after their tenth wedding anniversary.
According to Star magazine, the Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice star's supposed "contact with J. Lo has thrown a wrench in their relationship."
The publication claimed that he allegedly "kept slipping away to check his phone, and Jen eventually began to wonder who it was he felt compelled to contact so often."
"Everyone thought she and Ben were on the road to reconciliation. But his reaching out to J. Lo made her question what's really going through Ben's mind, not to mention his heart," the source added.
Affleck and Lopez dated for two years, but called off engagement in 2004. During an interview with Bill Simmons' on his show Any Given Wednesday, he revealed how his relationship and career took a hit.
He said: "I was, like, the lowest rung of cool and talented that you could possibly be in the public consciousness at that time. I had broken up with Jennifer Lopez and I had, like, three or four movies in a row that had bombed."
Amidst this, Affleck praised Garner for her constant support. He said: "My wife was really instrumental and helpful in me doing a lot of that work because I was just so focused [on it] and it was harder to balance family and all that."
