Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's life has again made it to spotlight. A celebrity gossip website has come up with possible reason why the actor split with Karisma Kapoor.
The duo met and got in 1997, during Shweta Bachchan's wedding with Nikhil Nanda. The Dhoom star's engagement with Kareena Kapoor's sister was announced in 2002, during Amitabh Bachchan's 60th birthday celebration. However, the duo called it quits soon after, and Karisma got married to businessman Sunjay Kapur in 2003.
According to Catch News, Karisma's mother Babita is one of the key reason behind the split. Adding on, the Bachchan family did not want her to work post wedding.
However, there is no evidence to these reports.
In 2008, during an interview with People, Jaya Bachchan had opened up about Abhishek and Karisma's split. She said: "She has the blood and genes of the Kapoors. They have the tradition. Her father and I were buddies, they had good relations with my husband. So one must not always blame the families." That squarely points to individuals behind the break-up.
