"Descendants of the Sun" actor Song Joong-ki's popularity is not only limited to South Korea -- it has spread far out into the wider region, especially China. And, he earned every bit of it with not only his hard work but also his kind gestures.
On Wednesday, Soompi reported that at the Seoul National University Children's Hospital, Song Joong-ki hosted a pizza party. The 31-year old actor, as endorser of Domino's Pizza, took part in the volunteer project. He brought smile on the faces of the sick children, their families and other staff members of the hospital. He also reportedly donated money as well.
"Song Joong-ki donated 100 million won, or $86,000 to the hospital's Hope Sharing Fund," Korea Herald reported.
Song Joong-ki donated money on a regular basis to a lot to different charities. "The recipients is the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation where he has been a fund donor since 2011. In 2016, he donated all of his talent fee for guesting in 'Hurry Up, Brother," Yibada reported.
The actor was also seen in Chinese variety show as a guest. In April 2016, the actor was seen in variety show "Hurry Up, Brother," which is similar to Korea's popular SBS variety show "Running Man". Before Soong Joong-ki he did "Descendants of the Sun" he was a cast member there.
Soong Joong-ki gets huge TV and movie projects like his upcoming movie "Battleship Island" is because of his good will, love and respect he earned.
In other news, rumours of the making of"Descendants of the Sun 2" are circulating especially after Soong Joong-ki 's instragram posts. A few weeks earlier, the actor posted a photo of himself wearing the army uniform which he used to wear in "Descendants of the Sun." Fans started speculating that the sequel of the popular series is in the works. Well, no official statement has been made yet.
