There has been a lot of debates and theorising over which actor would be the perfect fit for Cable in 20 th Century Fox's upcoming sequel to the highest grossing R-rated movie of all time, 'Deadpool.' That debate is over with Josh Brolin bagging the role of the man with cyborg parts, who has telepathic and telekinetic powers among others. Cable's creator Rob Liefeld is very excited.

On August 7, Ryan Reynolds tweeted two images of Josh Brolin in full costume and makeup, as Cable. The caption accompanying the first tweet read, "We all have that one, grumpy, heavily armed Uncle from the future." While the caption for the second tweet, "Deadpool 2: Your premium Cable provider," was obviously a smart throwback to advertisements of cable television channels.

Cable's look certainly has creator Rob Liefeld excited. The Hollywood Reporter's (THR) Heat Vision segment called Liefeld on Monday and he said, "This is a great! No one is having a better day than me! Let me assure you!" adding, "I've seen when fans give their thumbs-up and their thumbs-down. Their condemnation and their praise. Josh as Cable, it's been 100 percent euphoria, praise, excitement."

Liefeld told comicbook.com, "Fandom can create their own burden, and I'm going back to Michael Keaton getting cast as Batman. You remember all of the fans exploding, 'How can you cast Mr. Mom as Batman?' And that was a big deal. Back then they had to address you on Entertainment Tonight, not Twitter. But the fans have to be accounted for, you can't ignore them. So I think when you open the oven and out comes that version of Josh Brolin as Cable, let's give some applause to the cooks."

Liefeld created Cable in 1990 along with fellow comic book writer Louise Simonson. A 2009 article from CBR.com mentions that it was editor Bob Harras who wanted to create a leader for the New Mutants, who was very different from Professor Charles Francis Xavier, also referred to as Professor X.

Cable's first full appearance was in 'The New Mutants #87'published in March 1990. Named Nathan Summers, Cable is the biological son of Scott Summers, the X-Man known as Cyclops and Jean Grey's clone Madelyne Pryor.

Meanwhile, Stefan Kapicic, who reprises his role as Colossus from the first 'Deadpool,' told THR's Heat Vision, "This is just the beginning of amazing things that are coming," adding, "Cable is one of the characters I was raised with. ... Cable's face, with all the scars and the eye and the haircut. It's like I'm seeing the comic book Cable."

Ryan Reynolds also offered the first look at Zazie Beetz as Domino a week ago, which spoofs Deadpool's first-look on March, 2015, that itself was a spoof of actor Burt Reynolds' iconic naked photoshoot for Cosmopolitan magazine from the 1970s.

The 'Deadpool' sequel, which opens June 1, 2018, is directed by 'Atomic Blonde' helmer David Leitch and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who also wrote the first 'Deadpool.' Other than Reynolds, who is also producing the film, actors Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Leslie Uggams, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapicic and Karan Soni all return in their respective roles from the first movie.

Other than Brolin and Beetz, new additions to the movie include Jack Kesy as the mutant Black Tom Cassidy. 'Hunt for the Wilderpeople' star Julian Dennison and Shioli Kutsuna have been cast in undisclosed roles.
