Following seven glorious years, South Korean girl band 4Minute is on the verge of break-up. According to media reports, Cube Entertainment is disbanding the five-member group due to a conflict in girls' opinion.
As per the report, the decision to dissolve the band has been taken after months of brain storming. An insider told Allkpop: "All the members have a different future in mind, such as singers or actors. After months of consideration, they decided that it would be hard to maintain the team."
However, the agency revealed that the 4Minute member, HyunA, has renewed her contract with them. While the role of the Gangnam star in the company is not yet known, it is stated that some of the other members are also considering to renew their contract with the entertainment agency.
"HyunA renewed her contract, and some of them are talking about renewing as well, but some will leave the label, " the industry insider added. The girls' contract as a cumulative band is set for termination later this month.
4Minute stepped into the music industry with its first single, Hot Issue in in 2009. The girls went on to give many hits including What's Your Name?, Crazy and more. The band also received the Bonsang Award at the 20th Seoul Music Awards, and the Kpop New Artist Award at the 2010 Billboard Japan Music Awards.
