Calvin Harris reportedly turned down an offer to record a track with American singer/songwriter Taylor Swift. The Scottish singer/DJ Calvin Harris apparently fears that working together might affect their relationship.
"Calvin's next single is ready but the label is keen for him to get a big female US star to collaborate on it. They know he attracts amazing names because everyone wants to work with him," a source told The Sun.
"He has already worked with Rihanna, Kylie and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini. They floated the idea of him working with Taylor but he politely declined it," the insider added.
Harris had previously collaborated with his former girlfriend Rita Ora. However, the two split in 2014 while they were working on her second studio album.
"Calvin has seen how sour things can turn when working with someone he's dating. He is very serious about Taylor and doesn't want to rock the boat. He's smitten. Instead, he is in talks with Beyonce as he's always wanted the pair to work together. She is a big fan. He loved her feature on Naughty Boy's dance single Runnin' (Lose It All) last year," the source continued.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old X-Factor judge had revealed it was difficult to move on after her break up with Harris. She told Wonderland magazine: "At the time... I just wanted to crawl in my bed and die. But I got out of it the other side, I'm surviving."
Following the split, Ora made alterations to some of the tracks on the album that they worked together on. She said: "I kind of saw the light at the end of the tunnel and I just wanted to change the vibe of the whole album. It was initially a really lovey-dovey album because that's where I was but then I obviously didn't feel like that."
She continued: "I was like, 'Okay, I need to get back in the studio and write some 'thank God my friends are great' kind of music."
