Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are planning to reunite for the sake of their children. The actress filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016, and the couple's six children - Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and twins Vivienne and Knox (8) - reside with her.
A source told Hollywood Life: "Brad Pitt, 52, and Angelina Jolie, 41, are doing everything in their power to put their egos aside and leave the drama behind for the sake of the kids."
"The kids took the breakup really hard, and it shocked both Brad and Angelina into realizing what their priorities are here — the welfare and happiness of the children," the insider added. "Brad and Angelina have made a concerted effort to scale back on their acting careers for now so they can spend as much quality time as possible with the children."
"Brad and Angie are also interested in co-parenting in the long run. They are also working hard to come to some kind of peace agreement between themselves. So they can build a working, civil, relationship as co-parents. They are both devoted parents and they're committed to providing a stable upbringing for the kids," the source shared.
Meanwhile, during a recent interview with GQ, the 53-year-old actor revealed his priority right now are the couple's children. He said: "Family first. People on their deathbeds don't talk about what they obtained or were awarded."
"They talk about their loved ones or their regrets—that seems to be the menu. I say that as someone who's let the work take me away. Kids are so delicate. They absorb everything. They need to have their hand held and things explained. They need to be listened to. When I get in that busy work mode, I'm not hearing. I want to be better at that," Pitt added.
