Samsung Electronics Co Ltd raises the ante for its Bixby Voice as the company plans to deliver a new version of the smart voice assistant very soon. The South Korean tech giant has revealed to bring Bixby Voice to all other devices such as TV, appliances and cars.
Samsung on Wednesday, October 18 confirmed that Bixby 2.0 is under works. In a clear bid to take on Amazon Alexa, the company says they are planning to make the next-generation intelligent digital assistant available for all connected devices.

Bixby 2.0 is touted to be "a fundamental leap forward" for artificial intelligence-powered voice assistants by Samsung executive vice president Eui-Suk Chung. He has stressed that today's digital assistants are "useful" but "limited".
"People use them to set timers and reminders, answer trivial questions, etc," states Chung in a blog post. "We see a world where digital assistants play a bigger role, an intelligent role, where one day everything from our phones, to our fridge, to our sprinkler system will have some sort of intelligence to help us seamlessly interact with all the technology we use each day."

Bixby was first launched in 2016 for high-end Galaxy devices and it was deemed a powerful system to manipulate almost all tasks in smartphone applications. With Bixby 2.0, Samsung targets to make the upgraded assistant "ubiquitous, personal, and open".
"This means having the intelligence of Bixby, powered by the cloud, act as the control hub of your device ecosystem, including mobile phones, TVs, refrigerators, home speakers, or any other connected technology you can imagine," notes Chung.
The arrival of Bixby 2.0 is expected to challenge industry leading assistant Amazon Alexa as well as Google Assistant, Microsoft's Cortana and Apple's Siri.
Samsung will soon be opening Bixby 2.0 for developers.
