The epic film Baahubali 2 (Bahubali: The Conclusion) directed by SS Rajamouli continues to make good collections at the worldwide box office on Wednesday, after a historic six-day collection of more than INR 700 crores.
The Prabhas and Rana Daggubati-starrer movie was released on April 28 and it sweeped the box office like a tsunami in its first weekend. Baahubali 2 continued to rock the ticket counters even on Monday, as it was a holiday. The movie collected INR 625 crores (approx.) in four days and shattered the lifetime record of the original (INR600+ crores).
Although Tuesday was a working day, but still the epic historical fiction drama ran in packed houses in some centres across the globe. However, it witnessed a drop in its collection due to various reasons such as reduction in its screen counts and ticket prices in some areas. When compared to its business on Monday, Baahubali 2 showed around 50 per cent dip in its collection on its fifth day.
Based on the promotion of the movie, people were very sure about the magnitude of its opening day business. In just four days, Baahubali 2 has become the third all-time highest-grossing Indian movie. The movie has a high possibility to beat the lifetime records of PK and Dangal, which are the top two highest-grossing Indian movies of all time with lifetime collections of Rs 792 crores and Rs 730 crores, respectively.
The magnum-opus project, which has gained a lot of attention across the globe, was one of the most anticipated films of 2017 as the fans were eagerly waiting to know why 'Kattappa killed Baahubali' in the prequel. Baahubali 2-The Conclusion is an epic fantasy, produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under the banner Arka Media Works.
Baahubali 2 has been released in over 8,000 screens in four languages – Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The film stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Nasser and Sathyaraj in important characters.
