Fans of South Korean television series Descendants of the Sun are hoping that co-stars Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo become real life couple. In the hit drama, Joong Ki plays the lead role as Captain Yoo Shi Jin, and Hye Kyo reprises the role of doctor named Kang Mo-Yeon.
The show's fans started speculation after the two were spotted wearing similar bracelets in different scenes. In the second episode, the 34-year-old actress wore a thin black bracelet, and in the sixth episode, the 30-year-old actor wore a similar band.
Meanwhile, Joong-ki talked about the shows instant success, which premiered on 24 February. He told reporters at Hyundai Motorstudio in southern Seoul: "I think people like the idea of a doctor dating a soldier because it's different. Doctors have appeared in many dramas, but a soldier is a relatively uncommon occupation on TV. I think people appreciate that."
"I've been wondering a lot lately whether I did the script justice," he added. "Despite having had plenty of time to prepare since the series is entirely pre-produced, I've been seeing a lot of room for improvement in my acting."
The Running Man star also talked about his steamy kiss scene with Joong Ki in the KBS TV drama series. He said: "I was worried about whether it would seem genuine, whether viewers would find it believable, and how intense the kiss should be. Thankfully, the response has been positive, which is a relief for me."
Descendants of the Sun airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 22:00 (Korean Time).
