Despite a delay caused by rain, Oscar-winner AR Rahman mesmerised 20,000 fans with his stellar performance yet again in a live concert in Kuala Lumpur.
He performed numerous hit compositions from the 1990s including his latest hit Pele: Birth of a Legend dedicated to the legendary Brazilian footballer.
The concert was delayed for almost two hours due to a downpour, but Rahman managed to win the hearts of his fans again on his second visit to Malaysia with favourite numbers, including Mustafa Mustafa, Usilampatti and songs from Alaipayuthey as well as Bombay movies.
Bernama reported that the Malaysia Major Events general manager, Tony Nagamaiah, said that Rahman's previous visit in 2014 was also a successful one which was enjoyed by 15,000 international and local audience members. He also said that this was the second time that Rahman was invited for a live performance with the government's support.
"It is our hope to continue this relationship with the great musical genius and we welcome him to Malaysia anytime. In fact, he could consider Malaysia his second home and we feel that there is opportunity for him to groom our local talent," said Tony in a statement.
This concert was organised by Black Horse Movie (M) Sdn Bhd and supported by Malaysia Major Events which is a division of the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.
