Veteran Hong Kong actor and singer Andy Lau has been hospitalised after falling off a horse while shooting a commercial in Thailand. According to a footage carried by local media, the actor was seen being wheeled into a Hong Kong hospital on a stretcher.
"There was an accident when I was shooting for a commercial in Thailand on January 17. I fell from a horse and this lacerated my pelvic bone," Lau wrote on his blog. "Right now a medical team is taking proper care of me. I am doing well. Please do not worry. Thank you for your well wishes," the 55-year-old actor added.

Initially, Lau's company Focus Films issued a statement saying the actor suffered "serious spinal injuries". But, later the company added that Lau is fine now and "is currently being looked after by medical professionals". The production company also thanked all his fans for the concern and assured them that there is no reason to be worried about.
Lau, one of the biggest stars in the Chinese speaking world, has been featured in a number of local and international films including, Wong Kar-wai's "Days of Being Wild", "The House of Flying Daggers", the "Detective Dee" historical fantasies, and "The Warlords". The actor has enjoyed a nearly 30-year career as an award-winning singer, actor and producer. Lau is widely known as one of the "Four Heavenly Kings" of Cantopop.
According to his production company website, he has starred in over 140 movies and he was recently seen in the Great Wall, directed by Chinese director Zhang Yimou. The film also featured Hollywood star Matt Damon.
