Aamir Khan, the Mr. Perfectionist of Indian cinema, is now in Singapore to promote his highly anticipated upcoming movie, "Secret Superstar".

During the promotional campaign, Khan opened up about this movie and revealed that 'Secret Superstar' is a bigger film than his previous wrestling drama "Dangal", which went on to become the highest grossing Indian film worldwide.

Directed by Advait Chandan, "Secret Superstar" stars Zaira Wasim in the lead role, while Aamir will be seen playing the role of a sleazy music director named Shakthi Kumar.

The teasers of the movie which were released recently indicated that Shakthi Kumar is very flirtatious, and he loves to sport tight and funky T-shirts.

Secret Superstar: Movie with a global dimension

During the promotional campaign, Aamir Khan told media that Secret Superstar will showcase a heart touching story of a 14-year-old girl with colourful dreams and aspirations.

He said 'Secret Superstar' will be a much bigger film than 'Dangal' even though both the films are about the empowerment of girl child.

"While Dangal speaks to adults, with the message that we should treat our children equally whether they're a girl or a boy, Secret Superstar speaks to the youth of the world, and specifically the girl child. It's their story, through the story of a 14-year-old girl with dreams and aspirations. In that sense it's a bigger concept because it's her life and she's taking it in her hands," said Aamir Khan, as quoted by The Straits Times.

'Secret Superstar' also marks the reunion of Zaira Wasim and Aamir Khan after 'Dangal'. In this upcoming movie, Wasim plays Insia, a young girl who makes it big in the music industry after facing many obstacles.

Aamir Khan also talked about the challenges he faced while playing the flirtatious music director in the film. Khan said the character of Shakthi Kumar was nowhere related to him in real life.

The 'Lagaan' actor gave full credits to director Advait Chandan for reaping the best from him while playing Shakthi Kumar.

Aamir Khan visits Singapore first

Interestingly, the crew of 'Secret Superstar' kickstarted their promotional campaign from Singapore. Khan revealed that Singapore was chosen to kick off the film tour because he has not visited the country before in his life.

The actor said he chose Singapore to reach the new audience and added that he will begin the promotion of his next movie from Turkey.

'Secret Superstar' will have its theatrical release on October 19, 2017.
