Selena Gomez and The Weeknd made their red carpet debut at the 2017 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The 27-year-old Starboy hitmaker kissed the 24-year-old singer on her cheeks while on the red carpet, much to her delight.
This year's gala theme celebrates the museum's Costume Institute exhibition Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between, and the former Disney star opted for a white lace Coach dress, and kept it simple with a choker.
Rumours that The Weeknd and Gomez are dating started after the two were seen kissing while leaving dinner at Giorgio Baldi restaurant on 10 January in Santa Monica, California. On 26 January, the two were spotted together in Florence, Italy.
The Weeknd is her first serious relationship after splitting with Justin Bieber. Gomez and the Baby hitmaker who started dating in 2010, have had an on-and-off relationship until 2014.
She had previously revealed that she is unhappy with the constant scrutiny about her relationship with Bieber. She told W magazine: "I'm so exhausted. I honestly am so done. I care about his health and well-being. But I can't do it anymore."
"To me it was: I'm 18, I have a boyfriend, we look cute together, we like that. Then I got my heart broken and I cared. Because people had no idea what was going on, but everywhere it was a million different things. I was kind of in a corner, banging my head against the wall. I didn't know where to go," Gomez added.
