The new SBS drama, "Whisper" started this week as the hit legal-thriller "Defendant" ended, the new revenge drama had a strong start with 13.9 percent ratings, according to Nielsen Korea.

The first episode of the new drama aired on Monday at 10 p.m. on SBS. On the first episode, the tone for a dark story of ambition and vindication was set.

With the revenge drama actress Lee Bo-young makes a comeback to the small screen after her role in the 2013 show "I Can Hear Your Voice," as a feisty prosecutor.

This time she plays the role of a policewoman Shin Young-joo, who is handling a murder case in which the main suspect is her father.

However, he is allegedly not the culprit as the father of the lead actress gets a call from a colleague and when he rushes over to meet him, when he reaches the spot he discovers that he has been killed. But, the police arrest him seeing him at the crime scene.

Shin, meanwhile, points to Choi Il-hwan (Kim Kap-soo), the ruthless head of the law firm Taebaek, as the chief suspect.

The judge who is presiding over the trial is played by Lee Sang-yoon. In the said series, Lee Dong-joon character is known to be a judge with conviction, but sue to blackmail from the law firm, he ends up sentencing Shin's father to 15 years in prison, and Shin vows that she will take a revenge for it.

The first episode of the drama ends with Shin trying to seduce drunk Dong-joon and threatens him with sexual abuse charges.

The new drama is directed by Lee Myung-woo and written by Park Kyung-soo. The show will air Mondays and Tuesdays on SBS.
