The biggest night of Hollywood, the 89th Academy Awards ended on a high note with Moonlight winning the Best Picture Award, although Warren Beatty announced La La Land as the Best Picture. Amidst confusion that prevailed for a while, the makers of 'La La Land' graciously left the stage and made way for makers of 'Moonlight'. Damien Chazelle won the Best Director Award for 'La La Land'.
Emma Stone took home the Academy Award for Best Actress for her stunning performance in 'La La Land', while Casey Affleck won his first-ever Academy Award at the annual star-studded event on Sunday night.
The 'Manchester by the Sea' star took home the Oscar for Best Actor, winning for his gut-wrenching portrayal of a man tasked with raising his teenage nephew after the death of his brother.
The evening ended with 'La La Land' taking home six awards while 'Moonlight' won three golden statuettes. 'Hacksaw Ridge' grabbed two Oscars for Sound Mixing and Film Editing. The film 'Manchester by the Sea' also won two awards for Best Actor and Original Screenplay.
