The tvN drama Goblin may have ended a month back, but the show's success is offering its lead actor new achievements almost every day. Recently, the lead actor of the show Gong Yoo was identified as one of the most talked about celebrities of South Korea.
He was also recently named as one of the male celebrities with the best charm and highly appreciated for portraying a character with great fashion sense.
Gong's fame skyrocketed after he starred in the fantasy series Goblin, and became one of the most discussed South Korean celebrities online. After a month of its finale he is still one of the most talked about celebrity among the netizens.
According to Korea Herald, the actor topped the consumer participation index, according to the data from the research institute rekorea.net for the period of Jan. 16 to Feb. 17.
"Many netizens mentioned the actor's name several times where keywords associated with Gong included the terms 'like' and 'smile'. The Hallyu celebrity reached a consumer participation rate of over 2.6 million," Korea Portal reported.
Meanwhile, actor Jo In Sung nabbed the second position with a consumer participation rate of more than 400,000. Given the popularity of his new movie The King, he became one of the talked about South Korean celebrities online.
In other news, Gong Yoo will be taking a break from work from mid-March. After the successful end of Goblin, the actor had been busy with commercial filming engagements and photo shoots. So now, he would finally take the much needed break and decide during that time what he would like take up next.
Recently, the actor's agency Management Soop announced that the Train to Busan actor might consider taking part in a movie and not in a drama for his next production, Soompi reported.
Gong Yoo's tvN drama Goblin ended on Jan. 14 after successful 16-episode run of the show and aired two special episodes on Feb. 3 and Feb. 4 including behind the scenes, interviews and bloopers.
