South Korean gymnast Son Yeon-jae presented a unique example of passion and dedication by bagging a bronze medal at FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup with a borrowed hoop.
The 21-year-old all-round Asian champion flew from Moscow to Paris for her gymnastic performance last week. Due to a mistake made by the airline, Yeon-jae's hoop did not arrive on time, and when it did, it came all dented. With no option left, the renowned gymnast landed up performing with a borrowed hoop, and managed to finsh third.
According to the report on The Chosunilbo, Yeon-jae is eligible to get a part compensation of W7000 from the erring airline. As per the international aviation regulation, carriers are liable to compensate passegers in case of damaged or lost baggage, and Yeon-jae will recieve the same.
While Yeon-jae's hoop is light and weighed a mere 300 grams, she can file a further compensation for the inconvinienece she faced.
Meanwhile, Yeon-jae's management agency Galaxia SM has stated that the rythmic gymnast champion will not pursue further compensation and intend to focus on the competition.
