Android 7.0 Nougat
Official Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Android 7.0 Nougat OTA now live

Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users are in for some exciting news as the highly-anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update is now live. This is in line with Samsung Turkey's recent revelation that a full-fledged rollout of stable Nougat update for the flagship Galaxy handsets would start on 17 January.

Meanwhile, several users are reporting the Nougat release for the S7 and S7 Edge; albeit the update is based on Android 7.0 and not Android 7.1.1 as rumoured earlier.

According to The Android Soul, those who are running the Marshmallow BTU firmware are confirmed to get the DPLT OTA update wherein the S7 would be upgraded to the European build 'G935FXXU1DPLT' and the S7 Edge would be getting the 'G930FXXU1DPLT' firmware build.

The update seems to have started rolling out at midnight (17 January) for all public users as Samsung seems to have lifted the limited access restriction to beta users.

However, speculation is rife that Chinese users are still receiving the beta builds of the Nougat update due to some technical issues with the Android 7.0 build.

Consequently, it is ascertained that Samsung could be delaying the final release or the public version of Nougat OTA for the Chinese variant of Galaxy S7. Various reports are now speculating that the technical glitch could be related to Qualcomm processor as the Exynos variant in Europe is already embracing the Nougat update via OTA.

Interested users may go ahead and check for the new update by going to their device's Settings and launching the Software Update section. Also, check out the manual download links and our step-by-step installation guide posted here.
