Madonna, who is in the last week of the seven-month long 'Rebel Tour', disappointed her fans by arriving three hours late for her concert at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
The show, which was scheduled at 9 pm was pushed to 10:30 pm, and the pop diva got onto the stage at 11:30 pm for her performance. The show organizers who are taking care of Madonna's New Zealand and Australia concert informed the fans about the delay beforehand and also gave the option of refund.
"Madonna's Rebel Heart performance will proceed this evening in Brisbane. Following a late start last night, fans should note, the timing for tonight's performance may also be delayed.
We encourage concert goers to keep this in consideration when making arrangements to get home safely", Live Nation wrote on their Facebook page.
According to the reports on Daily Mail, the three-hour delay has cost the 57-year-old around $10,000 "because of the wages blow-out for event staff, police, ushers, security, parking attendants and caterers plus refunds to almost 100 patrons. "
Many of the fans were forced to leave the arena early, as the show was staged at outer suburb of Boondall where the last train to the city leaves at 11:57 pm, 27 minutes after the concert originally started.
When the Rebel star stepped onto the stage, most of her fans were gone and she was left to perform for some empty seats. To lighten up the mood of the audience, Madonna in her quirky way told everyone that she was not late, but everyone present at the venue was early.
"It's you people that get here early that's the problem. Stay home, do your hair and makeup, have a tequila. Roll yourself a fat one ... no, I don't believe in that shit."
She continued: "Just come late and I won't have to come early. We've got three more shows and we want to fix the problem."
