Zero Dark Thirty actress Jessica Chastain has opened up again to put all the rumours about the alleged cold war with co-actor Jennifer Lawrence to rest.
The news of the feud came to light in 2013 when the actresses were nominated in the 'Best Actor- Female' category at the Academy Awards, and the 24 year-old Jennifer Lawrence got the golden statuette for her performance in "Silver Linings Playbook."
Reportedly, the 38-year-old was not happy about Jennifer commenting on her Oscar nomination, and also on her loss to Lawrence at the Oscars and SAG Awards .
In a small monologue at Saturday Night Live in 2013, Jennifer was seen referring to Chastain as "Jessica Chastain? More like Jessica Chast-ain't winning an Oscar on my watch."
Now after three years, in her interview with Haute Living, the Broadway actor cleared the air.
She said: "I remember growing up hearing this myth, that women fight when they're together and it's completely inaccurate. I've never seen it. I know also during Oscar season, [the] media—because they were trying to get headlines and get clicks—were trying to fabricate a fake rivalry between Jennifer Lawrence and myself, and I immediately came out and said this is a media myth that has to stop. The women I know are not like this and I cheer for women to succeed because I know when an actress succeeds that means there's going to be that many more roles for women because an audience is going to demand it."
Though this is not the first time Jessica had refuted the rumors. In 2013 itself, the Golden Globe Winner posted on her Facebook about how "media makes up bogus stories about women fighting in this industry"
Her post on the social media read, "Please don't allow the media to perpetuate the myth that women aren't supportive of each other. Every time an actress is celebrated for her great work, I cheer. "
"I think all of the actresses recognized this year have given incredible performances. But more important, they've all shown themselves to be filled with generosity and kindness. I've done two photo shoots with Jennifer Lawrence over the years and have found her to be utterly charming and a great talent. I've told her how beautiful her film work is", she added.
