South Korean actress Han Hye Jin has opened up about the age gap between her and husband Ki Sung Yueng. The 35-year-old artist revealed how the 27-year-old professional footballer's parents reacted to their relationship.
During an episode of My Ugly Ducklings, the host asked Hye Jin about being being 8 years older than Sung Yueng. She responded: "My mom felt a little nervous about it at first. My family has three daughters. Because there was a big age gap, she frequently asked what my husband's parents thought about me."
She added: "My mother-in-law is very happy and positive. She laughed and said, 'It's so fun. I am for you guys. I am happy.' I was very surprised. She was so welcoming... My father-in-law said, 'Prove them wrong by living a happy life together."
Hye Jin added: "He was a bit concerned, though, because one day he said, 'It's not an 8-year-difference; it's actually 7 years and 3 months when I counted."
Adding on, she gushed about her husband's family. She said: "My dad passed away a year before my wedding, so my father-in-law walked me down the aisle."
The couple tied the knot in 2013. The two welcomed their first child together in 2015.
