American singer and actor Joe Jonas has opened up about his close bond with Demi Lovato. The duo dated for a few months in 2010.
During an interview with People, Joe said that he considers her family. He said: "It's genuine. It's not like red carpet friends where you hug them and never talk to them again. We actually get to spend time together, and it makes shows like this a lot of fun."
The Cool for the Summer singer and the Jonas Brothers boy band, including Kevin Jonas and Nick Jonas, met back in 2008 on the set of the Disney Channel original film, Camp Rock. Through the years, they have found great support with one another.
"It's great to have friends who are supportive instead of red carpet friends," Lovato added. "It feels great and they're family...It's really great because we all really bonded when we were younger and toured together. We've all watched each other evolve and grow up, and we've been able to be there for one another. It's awesome."
Meanwhile, on 16 September, Lovato posted a collage on her Instagram to mark Nick's birthday. She wrote: "To one of my absolute best friends on the planet, 10 years of ups and downs but no matter what you always made me laugh through it all. Happy birthday @nickjonas.. So proud of you and so grateful to have toured together this year. Love you brother "
