The new-generation Hallyu star, Park Bo Gum did not start his K-pop journey to become an actor. Instead, the 23-year-old wanted to become a singer - songwriter and was preparing for the same from the time he went to high school.
On the August 28 episode of KBS 2TV's 2 Days & 1 Night, the young actor revealed that he even auditioned for the big three agencies. When asked how Bo Gum came into acting profession, the aspiring singer relayed: "My original dream was to become a singer-songwriter, so I sent a video of myself playing the piano and singing to all the big agencies." He once disclosed that he self-composed a song in high school which made him sign a contract with a management agency. "Thankfully I got contacted by a big agency, and I got to meet the head of Cha Tae Hyun's agency," the Music Bank host asserted.
In addition, Bo Gum also disclosed that he sent out his tape and auditioned for big entertainment agencies. When the host asked if the actor went out for SM, YG, and JYP too, the Seoul born performer responded : "Back then I [auditioned] for them all."
While Bo Gum has proved himself as an actor, he is still waiting to live his dream as a singer. He shared: " Currently, I work as an actor, but I still love music". He also expressed his desire to sing in a previous interview with Hong Kong's Men's Uno: "I have not forgotten about my dreams to become a singer. If given the chance, I want to take part in a drama OST making and also try out for musicals."
