Park Bo Gum was burdened to take up the lead in the upcoming historical drama, Moonlight Drawn by Clouds. The next generation Hallyu star, who will be playing the protagonist for the first time, states that he was sceptical on living up to the expectations of the viewers.
The actor opened about his inhibitions at a recent press conference of the KBS2's period show. "To be honest, when I was cast [for the lead role], I was very thankful and I did feel a bit burdened. When I thought about it on my own, I realized that I have to lead the drama and wondered whether I'd be able to live up to expectations," Bo Gum told Allkpop
The 23 year-old, who has shared the promotional screen with star Song Joong Ki, further elaborated: "The more I thought about it, I got to thinking that it's not a drama I'm doing on my own but that the director, writer, staff, and the other actors are all main characters, too. I was able to shed the weight on my shoulders a bit with that thought."
"I think that feeling and the atmosphere will be right there in the drama. I'm filming for it with the hopes that I won't disappoint and that it will be a drama that provides healing and consolation," he said.
Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, starring Park Bo Gum and Kim Yo Jung, will air its first episode on August 22 at 10 p.m.
