Girls' Generation's Seohyun might make her Chinese debut this year. The 24-year-old reportedly is in talks with the production company to play a female lead in upcoming Chinese web drama.
On 20 June, media reports suggested that Seohyun has already taken up the role and is likely to start with the shoot. However, SM Entertainment has denied all the rumors and affirmed that the singer is still looking into the character and has not taken the final decision.
The company said: "She has received a casting offer for the female lead role, and we are the in final stages of discussion. She has not been confirmed [for the drama]; there's more discussion left to do."
As per Koreadaily report, the Chinese drama has been tentatively entitled "Hwapokcheonwang." The drama is about a male celebrity who gets attracted to a girl in school. If Seohyun finalizes her role, she will share the screen space with other Korean celebrities including Sojin from girl group 9Muses.
Meanwhile, the XZY lyricist is currently busy promoting her Chinese debut movie, So I Married an Anti-Fan. The movie, which is based on an eponymously titled novel, is set to release by the end of this month. Seohyun will be seen portraying the role of a trainee at a similar agency where top male star, played by EXO's Chanyeol, is also registered.
