Samsung Electronics Co Ltd is likely to skip the Android 7.1.2 update for Galaxy devices after releasing Android 7.0. A recent report reveals the South Korean smartphone manufacturer is planning to roll out the Android 8.0 Oreo update next.
A series of Android Nougat updates has recently been released to Samsung Galaxy devices and some users are worried about the possible delay of Android 8.0 Oreo for 2017. SamMobile on Sunday, October 15 reported that Samsung will be letting out Oreo after Android 7.0.

The report came after Samsung released Android 8.1 Oreo on Galaxy S8 and Android 8.5 Oreo on Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy Tab A earlier in October. Apart from these devices, Galaxy phones and tablets eligible for the next major update include Galaxy S8 Edge, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6, among others.
For those who have received any Nougat update without the Samsung Experience, the updated version of the user interface is expected arrive with Oreo soon. However, it remains uncertain if Samsung is aiming to release the Oreo update before the year ends.
Android 8.0 Oreo offers autofill API, Notifications Dots, Picture-in-Picture mode, new emojis and more new features and improvements.
Autofill API lets users register apps as autofill providers to sign them in automatically without compromising security. App managers that support this include 1Password, LastPass and Dashlane.
The Picture-in-Picture video allows users to continue watching videos while doing anything else on the screen. Chrome, YouTube and VLC, among others, are now supporting this feature.
