South East Asia has been a major attraction for the filmmakers of Hollywood because of its beautiful islands, steamy jungles and meandering rivers, giving a perfect backdrop to the movies shot here. Hollywood filmmakers love exploring parts of South-East Asia, that since long has provided their movies with a thrilling backdrop.

Countries like Thailand, Vietnam, and parts of Singapore are attracting filmmakers primarily due to the low production cost, availability of animals and a vast expanse of greenery and beach settings.

However, over the years the number of tourists dropping in to visit these locations that once embraced their favourite movies, is posing as an interruption to the world of the wild. 

Here are six movies that were shot in parts of South East Asia, making them major tourist locations.

Kong is an adventurous movie that was shot in parts of Vietnam. These locations are very raw, appealing and mesmerizing to the eyes of the audience. It also boosted Vietnam's place internationally, mostly among Hollywood producers.

Kong: Skull Island is based on a monster, a massive Gorilla. This movie is a reboot of the franchise King Kong, starring Tom Hiddleston, Samuel Jackson, John Goodman, Brie Larson and directed by Jordan Vog Robert.

Kong attacks a team of scientist and Vietnam War soldiers traveling to an uncharted island in the Pacific. They encounter terrifying creatures including mighty Kong in the island.The Kong movie was one of the major projects to have been shot in the locations of Vietnam which took the producers a month long to complete the movie.

Blackhat chose Indonesia and Malaysia as their prime shooting location. The movie revolves round the search of a cyber-terrorist the main accused of a nuclear meltdown in China. The mystery film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tang Wei, Viola Davis, Holt Mac Callany and Wang Leehom.

Though the movie bombed at the box office, we cannot forget the notable scene elaborately depicting Balinese Nyepi Day Parade created at Papua Square in Jakarta as well as the scene of the villain hatching a plan at a massive complex of tin mines in the Malaysian state of Perak.

The producers filmed the movie in the Philippines for two months despite being criticized for depicting poverty in the country. Moreover, it was a boost for the tourism industry.
