October is turning out to be a very busy month for movie buffs all around the world. Films like 'Blade Runner', 'The Mountain Between Us', and 'The Florida Project' have already reached theaters in the first week of the month, and are receiving positive reviews from audiences and critics alike. Several anticipated projects will be joining the party from the next weekend.

The Square
'The Square', which won the Palme d'Or at the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival, will be released in the United States on October 27, 2017. Directed by Ruben Ostland, this Swedish satirical drama features Claes Bang, Elisabeth Moss, Terry Notary and Dominic West in the lead roles.
'The Square' revolves around the story of a curator who hires a public relations team to elevate the publicity of Swedish museum. The intervention of the public relation team does not go as planned, bringing about a great deal of chaos in the museum.
Upon its screening at Cannes, 'The Square' emerged as a critical success, and spectators lauded Ostland for his uncompromising cinematic language and realistic making style. After the screening, Guardian's Peter Bradshaw gave the movie four stars out of five, stating that 'The Square' is a daringly surreal satire.
The Snowman
'The Snowman' is of the most anticipated movies from Thomas Alfredson, who has previously crafted elegant flicks like 'Four Shades of Brown', Let The Right One In', and 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' in the past. The film stars Superstar Micheal Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson, Charlotte Gainsbourg, J K Simmons, and Ronan Vibert in the lead roles.
The movie is based on Jo Nesbø's crime novel of the same name.
'The Snowman' features the cat and mouse game between a detective and a serial killer who appears only during winter. Touted to be an in and out thriller, director Alfredson has reportedly loaded the movie with several edge-of-the-seat moments which will send chills through the spines of the viewers.
Jigsaw
The eighth installment in the 'Saw' franchise, 'Jigsaw' will be released on October 20 and 27, in the UK and US respectively. This horror flick is directed by The Spierig Brothers, and it stars Matt Passmore, Callum Keith Rennie, and Clay Bennet in the lead roles.
Just like the previous installments in the 'Saw' franchise, this movie will also showcase a madman ordering a group of victims to play the sadistic game in between the narrow line of life and death.

Marshall
'Marshall' is a biographical drama based on the life of Thurgood Marshall, the first African-American Supreme Court Justice. The film, directed by Reginald Hudlin, will be released in theaters on October 13, 2017. Chadwick Boseman has played the lead role in this film, while the supporting star cast includes Josh Gad, Kate Hudson, Dan Stevens and Sterling K Brown.
The major part of this movie will revolve around Thurgood Marshall's initial phase of the career as a lawyer.
The Killing of a Sacred Deer
Yorgos Lanthimos' psychological thriller 'The Killing of a Sacred Deer' will grace the big screens in the US on October 20, 2017. The story of this flick revolves around the life of Dr. Stephen Murphy, a cardiovascular surgeon who comes across several unusual experiences in his domestic life after he forms a familial bond with a sinister teenage boy. The film, distributed by A24, stars Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman in the lead roles.
